Shabby Chic Butterflies and Handbag

Hi friends!
Today's post is all about being creative on a budget, and still making fabulous embellishments to either dress up a handbag, or use in other projects!
This is a perfect idea for swaps!

Who doesn't love Butterflies??
Well I know that I do, and I found these little pretties at my local Dollar Store. To make things even better, they also had little handbags in pastel colors in a pretty velvet fabric.
I selected both, and took them home with an idea in mind.

I embossed the silver paper in my Spellbinders Platinum 6 for added texture!

This is what I came up with!!
As you can see, I altered the butterflies, adding embossed silver paper, tulle, wired ribbon, smaller butterflies, pearls, and gems.

To gift these little beauties, I added them to tags so the recipient can easily remove them.

Aren't these spectacular?
I made them each a little different, even making a Flamingo Butterfly. Named after the little pink feathers that adorn its center below. That one even has a heart-shaped pearl tiara!

These little beauties are enclosed in the pouch that I embellished with vintage lace, trims, ribbons, and pearls. One of them decided it wanted to rest on the front of the bag also. I think it looks perfect!!

My Book of Special Memories Mini Album with Tonic Studios Dies

Hi friends,  I am here with a brand new set of dies from Tonic Studios and yet another adorable mini album! This one is perfect for a little girl, a mother of a little girl, or a cat lover, or all of the above! I am thrilled with this collection of dies, and how easily I am able to put paper on pages to assemble the perfect little personalized gift!

On the cover, and throughout, I have used the  CUTE GIRL collection from Crate Paper. As a cat-lover, I could not resist, and the floral designs were easy to repeat with the layered Tonic die-cut that I assembled and colored using Nuvo Pens and Nuvo Glitter pen. The little roses all have some sparkle!

The cluster of flowers is all handmade by yours truly, and I used Sizzix Dies by Tim Holtz, felt, and small pearls that I stitched together.  The cat, butterfly, and flower buttons helped me complete the look. Adorable!!

The spine of a book is equally as important as the front. So for this, I used all the little strips left over from my favor…

Memorable Moments Mini Album for Spring!

Hi friends,  I am so thrilled to be able to bring you a mini album perfect for Spring! I just finished this little beauty, full of little details and whimsy, in lovely shaped pages that will keep your eyes entertained!  I used Tonic Studios new Memorable Moments Keepsake Insert Creator dies for this stunning little beauty that contains 11 opportunities for photos in five interior pages, as well as both front and back covers. The front reads: Memorable Moments, and is embellished with a gathering of small glittered pink and white flowers, a sparkly bird cage, and a golden butterfly among other textures created with a small doily, rose gold trim, gauze, and shiny bling and pearls.
For the interior pages I also used dies from the Memory Book Maker Layered Cascade Die set. This is a lovely space to either write a small sentiment, or the name of the owner of this little book. I think any grandmother or mom would love to receive this on Mother's day as a little brag book, or mementos of…

Hope Frame with Bible Verse

I was inspired to write this Bible verse to go along with this picture frame and Hope banner. It can be found in Psalm 31: 24, and it reads: "Be strong and take heart all you who hope in the Lord." Suffering from any type of cancer is devastating, and the words of David in what is one of the most beautiful books of the  Old Testament can really shed some light into a relationship in which the only comfort that really made a difference was the one promised by our very maker. If you, or someone you know is suffering from this horrible disease, my hope is that you find comfort not only in your surroundings and those you know, but also in the love of our God, just as David did in the darkest moments of his life.
For this project I used the Cricut to make the banner and flowers. I hand-painted the Bible verse and background with watercolors, color pencils, and ink. TFL!
I'll also be sharing this over at Link up for Pink.
