Girl's Little World Mini Album

Hi friends,
Today I present to you my latest mini album. To make this mini book, I used Tonic Studios Dies and Lemoncraft papers aptly called: Girl's Little World. I absolutely love the watercolor images in this collection, and thought they were perfect for the type of album I wanted to make.
On the cover, I began with a  white base, dotted all along the edge with different colored Nuvo drops. This immediately added to the whimsy of this book. I also used one of the darling images from the collection and highlighted it using Ranger Glossy Accents. To finish it, I also added a small banner topped with the baby's name, and different pastel-colored gems. The little butterflies also decorate the cover with matching wings and little gems.

Here you see a closer view of the mulberry roses I used to decorate the corner of the cover. They are a lovely delicate pink. I also hand colored the butterflies using promarkers.

For the spine of this book, I arranged small flowers and heat embossed them in different colors to match the papers. I also added small pieces of the lovely trims used inside the book, and topped it with an adorable little bow, wrapped in blue twine to match.

Inside the front cover is yet another stunning image. I added small sparkly sequins throughout just to give it a little shine.

The first page will allow mom to introduce her little baby girl with the title : Princess. I fussy cut all the images and added a small butterfly and tiny bird die cuts layered for dimension. Behind the oval frame is also a small pink trim I used throughout this book.

Here is the second page with more adorable images and places for pictures.

Here you see the New Baby photo sleeve I created using Tonic Studios dies, and a small bow from Pink & Main. I also added the mother bunny image here, with an embossed flower and layers of trim, tiny hearts, flowers, and touches of shine.

The opposing page houses a little booklet which fits more pictures. It is also topped with a little girl bunny, altered with glimmer, and grouped with the word Love atop a small heart. I used shimmery soft yarn to create the closure.

On this page spread I added four matching oval frames. Then I decorated the pages with little bunnies from the paper collection, small butterflies and pink embossed cabbage roses , a pinwheel and the title: Fantastic Girl.

Here you can also see the beautiful Daisy Chain Lace from Reneabouquets on the edges of the pages. A small pink heart is also topped with a daisy.  I cut these from the lace and used them throughout the book as well.

The next page is so endearing, with the two little girls who appear hugging, such a tender gesture!
I used more small interactive frames, a heart shaped paper clip layered with vellum, beautiful board pieces topped with moonstones, and a darling little flower-filled cup. It reads: Pretty Day.

The opposing page has more frames, a small teddy, and duck. Both are made in the same fashion as the heart. All of the small flowers are fussy cut from the collection. The sentiments read: My Super Girl, and Special Moment. Small pictures may be placed inside.

This layout appears simple, but it houses a little door for more pictures. The left page features little pink shoes. these are grouped with more flowers, and a little blue butterfly. The opposite page is a simple frame that has been bordered with the delicate pink flower trim.

Here is a closer look at the small shoes, and the tab that opens the page. You can also see the dry-embossing on the paper. I used an embossing folder for the added texture.

This page also has a shaker!!!! It is also a door into another picture pocket. I adorned it with the lovely little girl, flowers that serve as a frame, two shiny dragonflies, and a small tab on the corner keeps it closed.

The opposing page also has a clear acetate pocket, topped with more butterfly beautiful board pieces colored to match and topped with small daisies and gems.

Here is the open page, revealing the space for a picture and a dainty heart-shaped garland. I  colored each to match the papers.

The very last page houses small tags that can either be used for important milestones, or more pictures. I also   topped the pocket with embossed paper and a gorgeous piece of lace. Then I finished it all with more gems.

For the back cover I added a clear pocket cut with Tonic Studios dies, and also added larger tags with beautiful seam binding ties The pocket is layered with a flower swag and a small blue butterfly. On the corner is another beautiful board butterfly colored to match the page and finished with sequins.
I hope you've enjoyed this project share, that you can Be inspired, and Be blessed!

DT Project for Crafter's Castle with Tonic Studios Bouquets and Banners Wonderfall Dies

Hi crafty friends,
This month I am collaborating as a Design Team Member with Crafter's Castle. Please stop by this blog and participate in monthly challenges. All craft levels as well as craft types are welcome, and every month there is a random winner selected to receive a prize. International entries are welcome!
This month's challenge Prize is Another Cup of Coffee Digital Kit from Taylormadecards4u.

Today, you will see a sampling of projects I have made with this Digital Paper Collection, as well as my Tonic Studios and Tim Holtz products.

My first project was a masculine Waterfall Card, made this using the Tonic Studios Bouquets and Banners Wonderfall Dies This allowed me to place several images from the collection on the front of this interactive card.

I also used the beautifully masculine coffee-themed paper that I cut using a beveled edge die from Tonic Studios.

Here you can see the mechanism at work, and how I used one of the many images to decorate the waterfall created by the dies. The papers have a lovely vintage feel that I layered with other cream and copper colored papers from my stash.

Inside the card, I also used the sentiment: Just for You, on a banner cut with the same dies. All of the edges were distressed using Tim Holtz Distress ink from Ranger in Ground Espresso. I love the masculine feel of this card, and it's perfect for Father's Day!

One of the fun things about using Digital papers, is the ability to manipulate the size of the images. For this, all you need is a basic home printer. This is what I did to make this very feminine card, using one of the images featuring a young girl carrying a tray of coffee cups and carafe.

I used flowers from my stash, as well as a pink ribbon to emulate the one worn by the small girl. I also topped off her hair with s tiny flower embellishment, and created a coffee cup that I painted to match using Tim Holtz Iced Spruce ink and Nuvo Creative Pens in Pink colors. The sentiment is a stamp that reads: Brewed with Love. The doily shape is reminiscent of a place setting, and I used a Crafter's Companion die to cut this out of a latte colored paper.

For my last, and favorite card, I used images from the collection as a mixed-media collage on a triptych style card. This was a lot of fun to do, as I was able to incorporate lots of textures and layers, giving me a very dimensional result with beautiful elements interspersed throughout.
On the front, I increased the image size, and for fun, I also incorporated the smaller version of the girl with roses, as it originally appeared in the collection. The added tags with coffee plant motifs and vintage ads are all from the same paper collection.

Here you can also see how I layered machine stitching, corrugated paper and ephemera from Tim Holtz. A double bow made of twine topped with a vintage button finished the front of my card nicely.

Here you see the rest of the card, with several playful layers of the lovely images in this collection, wooden butterflies and hummingbird. The entire scene is like a garden. Just like the one in which my own grandmother used to grow her own coffee.

Here is a closed look at the piecing. All papers are distressed and inked with Gesso and Espresso Ink.

Queen Bee Handbag and Sketchbook DT Project for Reneabouquets

Hi crafty friends,
For this month I want to share with you another fun project I made using Items from Reneabouquets and Tonic Studios dies.
I wanted to make something ultra lush, as I would be working with the Glass Wing Queen Bees from Reneabouquets. As we all know, there is only one queen in the hive, and for this queen, a beautiful handbag and sketchbook are essential!

Here is the couple with the hexagon shaped handbag covered in a beautiful handmade flower bouquet. Each handmade flower is delicately sprinkled with Gawdie Girl Pink Chunky German Glitter Glass. Grouped along the top of the handbag are also Beautiful Board Hexagon Elements Laser Cut Chipboard pieces that are embossed in gold, and scattered with Moonstone beads. I also added layers of embossed vellum resembling honeycombs, and hand-colored roses made with a Tonic Studios stamp and alcohol markers. Underneath is a piece of Ivory Wide Floral Embroidered Lace. This will surely provide a safe landing for any queen bee!
I

Along the side of the handbag, I wanted to ensure to add a handle, so I crafted one out of gold cord, and attached it to the bag with Tonic Studios die cuts that I layered with gold and black cardstock. Small black sequins top off the faux clasps. The base is also dry embossed in a honeycomb pattern, and topped with cascading hearts created with Nuvo expanding mousse and Finnabair golden nugget effect paste. The entire thing is also sprayed in gold.
Here you can see the queen bee front and center. She tops a piece of Beautiful Board Large Stackable Honey Bee Pattern that has been altered with Finnabair golden nugget effect paste, and sprinkled with pale pink microbeads. It all rests on the hexagon embossed front of the handbag.

Take a closer look at the detail in the Glass Wing Queen Bee. They are so amazing!

Now, lets look at the sketchbook! It fits comfortably inside of the handbag, but it is also made to fit the theme very nicely. On the cover, you see another grouping, only this time I used the Beautiful Board Medium Honey Bee Chipboard. To make it cohesive, I also colored it using my Nuvo alcohol markers and Nuvo Gold marker. The decorative pieces are also sprinkled with Gawdie girl pink glitter and moonstones, and they all rest on a bed of honeycomb chipboard pieces topped with vellum honeycombs, and lovely red roses. The phrase "Inspire",and the Notebook pages are all cut using Tonic Studios dies.

On this page, I recycled a piece of clear packaging and created a page by embossing it in a honeycomb pattern. Using a lovely stamped phrase shared by a friend, I adorned the page by framing it out with more vellum embossed pieces as well as the hand-colored roses and yet another gorgeous GlassWinged Queen Bee. In the background you can see the pages, They alternate between sketch papers and mixed media papers for a fun sketchbook.

Never forgetting the words that inspire me to create... I incorporated some scripture verses on key pages in this sketchbook. Here, I adorned the page with a piece of Beautiful Board Large Stackable Honey Bee Pattern, only this time I cut it in half to fit my page, added black embossing powder to make it shine, and sprinkled it with small moonstones
On this page I did the same, only here I embossed the honeycomb pattern beautiful board in gold, added moonstones and gems from my stash, and added a beautiful Proverb.

For the last page, I decided to add a pocket. I dry embossed and stenciled the paper, then added photo corners as a decorative element. To finish, it, I added a piece of applique given to me by a sweet crafter, and altered it using gawdie girl pink glitter, pearls and gems from my stash, and a beautiful
This concludes my project share, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I have! Please visit the links for your convenience, and don't forget to watch the video for more details.
Thank you for stopping by, and as always, I hope that you can Be inspired, Be Blessed!

DIY Hat Box Project Share from Decor8yourlife

Hat Box Project Share from Decor8yourlife

Hello fellow paper crafters! This is Sandi Nagel, aka Decor8yourlife.  I'm thrilled to pieces to be here as a Guest Designer for Paints and Glitter!  Today I'm sharing a DIY Hat Box that I made using the SVG files from the Paints and Glitter Etsy Store.

I can't begin to tell you how much fun it was to cut this hat box file and put it all together!

This hat box is perfect for gift-giving and sending crafty items to a friend.

The hat box measures approximately 5 1/2 x 4 x 2 3/8.  It's wide enough to hold a handmade memorydex card and other crafty goodies!

I don't know which part is the best, seeing it all come together or decorating it! You can add as much or as little embellishments as you want! I hot-glued a couple of trims from my stash, added a couple of trim flowers to the end of the handles, and flat-back pearls on the accent straps.

I also added some large, flat-back pearls to the bottom of my hat box to sit on.

I hope that you've enjoyed my hat box project share and that it inspires you to make several of your very own.  Thank you very much for visiting and let me know (in the comments) what you think of my project.

Spring in Paris Card with Tonic Studios Craft Kit 21

Hi friends,
I am sharing a very special card I made for my mother in law using items in my stash, and a product I had been wanting to try. I absolutely love using mixed media, and have incoporated this into this card. To make the process easier to watch, I have done a step-by-step video with music. All items used in the card are from my stash, and the dies used are from Tonic Studios Craft Kit, which can be purchased as a subscription. (This one happened to be #21, and is no longer available.)
I invite you to watch the process, and enjoy seeing how it comes together. A huge thank you to Reneabouquets for the Beautiful Board pieces on this card, and to Deb Hendricks for the gorgeous appliqué.

As always, I hope that you can Be inspired, Be Blessed!

"Secret Garden" DT project for Reneabouquets

Hi friends,
I'm enjoying spring, and finally getting into my garden to enjoy the gorgeous colors and sounds! Today, I am bringing you a mini album covered in all of the beauty that we can encounter in a Secret Garden...
On the cover...
From the very top of the cover, you can see a nest full of adorable singing birds. They are nestled in a grouping of flowers that drape onto the page. Below them are a stunning Dragonfly, and floating butterflies that I suspended with floral wire. These quite literally float on the page!

Front and center is our Dahlia Flower girl. She inhabits this garden among the mulberry flowers, covered in sparkle and moonstones. Behind her are layers of paper altered with glimmer and delicate lace. Peeking from one corner is also a small beautiful board butterfly...

Dimensions: 8"x 6.5"x 3.5"
Papers: Summer Studio

A closer look reveals the delicate beauty of this Dahlia Flower Girl and My Romantic Heart Butterfly. This is suspended with floral wire for some added whimsy. The lilac Mulberry Rose is also topped with a Butterfly Kisses Spun Lavender Single Side Printed Butterfly. I also fussy cut images from the Sweet Sentiment paper collection to include more floral arrangements in this book.

Take a peek at the adorable Printed Beautiful Board Large Bird Nest Laser Cut Chipboard. Can't you just hear them singing? You can also see how I've added dimension and layers with more fairies peeking in the background, glistening hearts that float on the page, and touches of light with pearls, gems, moonstones and Nuvo drops.

On the spine of this book, I took the opportunity to display the Flower Crown Lace that drapes beautifully with its delicate peaks, and topped it with one of the pieces from the
Beautiful Board Large Dainty Butterfly Pattern. These have been altered with Nuvo Alcohol markers, cotton candy flat back pearls, and sequins.

Hand-painted papers are fun to incorporate into my projects!

The interior pages of this mini album continue the secret garden theme with each page displaying doors that open to reveal pictures. Each embellished with White Wide Floral Embroidered Lace, adorable magical hummingbirds, and pockets filled with vellum tags. The first page hosts a dancing ballerina, topped with a Romantic Heart Butterfly...

I used several Tonic Studios dies from my collection. All ephemera is fussy cut using my Tonic Scissors.

Gawdie Girl Pink Chunky German Glitter Glass, I was able to make a glimmery nest for my magical hummingbird on this page. The delicate pieces of lace are shown here in Ivory...

All pages are decorated with Tonic Studios Nuvo Drops.

The Cathedral Elements Laser Cut Chipboard  can also be used as-is. Here I only topped it with Cotton Candy pearls, and a gorgeous ballerina fairy from the paper collection...
For a delicate touch on the opposing page, I added more Cotton Candy Pearls.

I made each page slightly different layering Vellum in soft pastel hues.

This page has a delicate vellum-layered pocket. To keep the items soft, I layered the Wide Floral Embroidered lace with moonstones and more images from the collection...

Using my pastel Prima Watercolors, I managed to paint each page to match!

All of the pages are cohesive, and here you can get a glimpse at the last page, that also has a piece of the Beautiful Board, sprinkled with Pale Pink Glass Microbeads. Each piece can be altered to suit your fancy, which makes them easy to incorporate into any project!

Frame topped with Cotton Candy Pearls.

On the last page, you can closely see that I have dry embossed all of the base pages in this book with a floral pattern for added texture. This final page has a hidden door to reveal three revolving doilies, and its door couples more butterflies and a magical hummingbird. All of these pieces will help tell a wonderful story.

A 3D Embossing folder was used in making my pages more luxurious.
I hope that you enjoy this post, and that you view the added video for a more detailed walk-through.
As always, I hope that you can Be inspired, Be Blessed!
