Tonic Craft Kit 68 Assorted Frames

This square card base came in the kit. I used several dies, parchment, embossing, and layered flowers.

Hello crafters, I have been away from my blog for some time, and now have more opportunity to share here, so yoday I am back with a new post, sharing a recent Tonic Craft Kit, and the cards I've made using it. To begin, this kit came with lovely pastel colored papers, nuvo drops, silver embossing powder, and gorgeous detailed dies and stamps for a variety of occasions.

Several corner and stand-alone flower and leaf dies are included, which will allow you to create lovely frames. I've combined one here on a slimline card. The frame is cut into the lavender background, then cut again out of the silver glitter card included in the kit. To give it a lovely window-like appearance, there is a piece of lavender colored parchment behind the card. All of this has dimensional adhesive, which allows the light to pop through. 

The sentiment is heat embossed with silver onto the pink card. and the edges of the card are inked in the included green ink. Finally, I added the butterflies, colored in shimmer powder, and Nuvo drops for trails. 

On this card I did a bit of paper piecing. This means I inlayed the floral and leaf bits into the die cuts. 

The last card is made with the rose corner pieces as well as the "love and hugs" sentiment. This is heat-embossed in gold. The smaller flowers are also cut using the kit, and drops of Nuvo finish it off. 

I loved working with this set, and give it a 10/10!

Garden Themed Mini Album

 Hi Crafters, Thank you for stopping by to see my latest Garden-themed Mini Album! This is a mini-mini, jam packed with lots of little details, all inspired by the adorable paper collection from Craft Consortium, and dies from Tonic Studios. It just so happens that I love to grow my own fresh herbs. To commemorate this garden venture, I decided to make an adorable mini album with a special twist. 

What is unique about this mini album is its Spine! I have used a beading-slash-Coptic binding technique to add some flair to this mini album. It allowed me to make a gorgeous spine that allows this little book to stand out. Enjoy the pictures!

On each page you can see that I have chosen different elements you can easily find in a garden, and focused on the colors or the delicate textures you can find. This is what I love about paper arts. Each creation can be made in the way we interpret beauty. For me, it is fun to incorporate shapes, textures, and color. The combination of elements allow for a cohesive result that the viewer, or recipient, can enjoy. In this case, I will selfishly be keeping this little masterpiece in my studio. I cannot bear to part with it!

Sweet Honey Bee With MFT Stamps

 Hi Crafters, 

Today I am so excited to be sharing with you my first entry into MFT's Weekly Sketch challenge number 583. I am using the Sweet Honey Bee stamp set, along with some of my favorite supplies. Below is an image gallery showing you part of my process. This adorable card was inspired by my husband, who happens to be a hobbyist beekeeper! Enjoy!

Creative Process

I began my card base with 110# cardstock. This was cut at 10"x7", scored in half at 5", to yield a 5"x7" card. The first panel was cut at 4.85"x6.85" out of designer paper in an ombré chevron pattern with a beautiful teal color that matched perfectly with my Catherine Pooler Skylight ink. This made my color choices super easy! Next, I used a trio of yellows from Catherine Pooler listed below for a perfect background panel, created with Honeybee's Stencil: Honey Dipper.

 

Here you can see how I used gradients of ink in yellow colors, using a soft brush. This allowed me to have a soft, but even application on this panel. Once complete, I cut it down to size to fit my card. ( 4.75"x6.75")

 

Following the same application style, I added Skylight ink on the edges of the Hexagons I cut using Tonic Studios dies. This really helped the embossing stand out on the edge of this beautiful shape! If you are wondering what I used, these hexagon shapes were cut using Tonic Studios 4126e Hopes In Hexagon Base Creator die set. This is a gorgeous set that leaves a beautiful embossed edge, with perfect areas to further embellish with Nuvo drops

 

I heat-embossed my image onto Vellum, and layered it onto the image I colored using inks and pencils. This technique will be taught in a future post, but it's one that I love to use because it gives a soft finish to the image color, while also allowing it to shine. Lastly, her little shoes, flowers, and antennae all got a touch of Nuvo drops for a dewy finish. Nuvo is self-leveling, so it is perfect for the little areas you wish to add dimension to with a bubble-like effect. 

Valentine Card with Copics and Daisy Mae Design Dies

Hi crafter, This past week we had a snowy and cold day, perfect for some coloring! It just so happened there was a craft-along with Clare Rowlands on Youtube hosted by Craftworld and I was able to print this adorable image below for free, and color along with the super talented designer of Daisy May Stamps and dies.(If you haven't seen her work, be sure to look her up with my links below!!)

 I decided to play along, adding my own little twist, and colored the image in similar hues...

What I learned: I was truly inspired to finish this project, and also loved the way the colors in the image played along with papers in my stash that I was very intent on using up. I also got to see someone Clare's coloring style, which although different than my own, is absolutely stunning!

I paired the little girl with a Bible verse from Jeremiah 31:3. It reads: "I have loved you with an EVERLASTING love..."

the adorable sticker came from Hobby Lobby, and it allows me to share my faith, which is the very reason I do believe in LOVE. 

Below, you can see how I finished this card. I used Daisy Mae Tag dies that are absolutely adorable and shabby. I layered and inked my papers to match the floral background of this large card. and also used a sweater-textured embossing folder to match the texture in the little girl's hat. I topped it with a matching bow, and off it went in the mail! We can't keep these, right??

Daisy Mae Design Die Set Nested Tags Torn Edge

Art Impressions Panda Card

 Hi crafters, 

I was inspired to start coloring again, and have made that one of my crafty goals for 2021. Today, I am sharing a card I completed and hope to enter into the Blog challenge over at Art Impressions. I have been playing with some of their stamps and really enjoying them. Here is the card I've made:

This was so much fun to make! I started by using copics to color the fun little panda. I then fussy cut the arm and leg portions to overlap the scalloped circle. This would allow me to show the image and still use the pretty die cut I selected. The rest was a matter of layering and using the sentiment stamp on a heart shape to complete my card. Some of the added details include the heat embossed bamboo. This image is also part of the stamp set. I decided to place it here and there for additional detail. I love to layer my cards, and this was no exception. Finally, I added small vellum flowers I created by also heat embossing and coloring. To make them shine, I added small gems to the center. This is one of my all around favorite ways to add shine. I hope you've enjoyed this card, and thank Art Imptresssions for such a cute stamp set!

Winter Wonderland DT Projects with Reneabouquets

Raquel here! Today I am sharing this collection of projects made with adorable items from Reneabouquets, my personal collection of Winter Wonderland papers, and several dies from my stash. In this group of items, there is also and adorable Doctor’s Bag which I’ve made with a digital file from Nicole Silhouette. 

Let’s begin looking a these goodies!

First, I’ve made this adorable Christmas themed tag. More whimsical than anything, it shows an image from Stampingbella that I’ve colored and layered among Beautiful board Christmas Cookies that appear to be sugar coated, and adorable shiny tag, and a pink tulle ruffle do add a bit of texture.

I began this tag by cutting out layers of my Winter Wonderland blue papers, then also cut out the stamped image and popped it on top adding a thick layer of foam between it and the background. To add more color, I cut a pink glitter card with a scalloped edge, then added the adorable beautiful board pieces from Reneabouquets. These were heat embossed for a sugary finish.

You can also see that I added stitching, pink and white snowflakes, small gems, and an adorable tag sentiment from Tonic Studios that I cut from my collection, then laminated with sequins and angel hair. The sentiment reads: “Winter Wishes and Snowflake kisses.”

The next item that I made was this small notebook. I used papers from my Winter Wonderland Pink design. This adorable paper has snowflakes in pinks and blues, with heart motifs and distressed edges. On the cover I also added daisy chain lace, an adorable tiny snowman, a piece of butterfly lace, and the word Sparkle, as well as another piece of pink tulle; all from Reneabouquets.

Below is also a set of 3x3  notecards. This playful little set is adorned with little images from Stampingbella atop little white doilies. I also used my paper collection here, by first stitching the edges in a zig-zag stitch. I then added small poinsettias layered with vellum and lace flowers, and layered Peach Wide Floral lace from Reneabouquets for an elegant finish. The small banners aptly read: Christmas Cheer.

Below is another project. This time, it’s a 3D Doctor’s Bag made with a digital file from Nicole Silhouette and my digital papers. I started by stitching along the edges, then decorated it with the gorgeous trim from Reneabouquets. I also added shabby Snowflakes that I heat embossed, and another printed beautiful board piece for a bit of whimsy.

Here is a closer look at the Garden Bouquet lace. It is one of my favorites to use on my projects! I also added little gems to the centers of the snowflakes in the paper pattern for even more shine...

Here is a look at the other side, which I adorned with a mulberry Rose from Reneabouquets nestled with a delicate bow as well as intricate leaves, all dusted in Gaudy Glitter glass, and finished with a precious moment glitter glass printed butterfly.

Lastly, I used more glitter glass to add some shine to the bag toppers you see pictured below. These were fun and easy to make, and I’ve topped them all with Beautiful Beads Mermaids Tail Iridescent Pearls. These were the perfect hue to finish off my snowflake embellishments.

Scalloped Embrace Fall Mini Album with Reneabouquets

Hi Crafters, 

I am so happy to be able to share this special project with you! I have incorporated the beautiful Fall themed Beautiful Board, laces, and butterflies from Reneabouquets, as well as some of my favorite Tonic Studios dies and Cardstock. All links for products shown, as well as coupon code, will be available for you at the bottom of this post. My linktree is available to make your selections easy. 

Now lets get to this project!

This is my mini album, encased in its own box, and made with the Scalloped Embrace die set from Tonic Studios. I LOVE the end results, as it is elegant, and can be used for more than one type of occasion. The cover reads simply : ALWAYS.

You can see that I have adorned this cover with a gorgeous display of Beautiful Board pieces, The 

Fancy Fall Tuck Ins were my favorite elements in this mini album.  On the top left, you can see how I altered one of them using my Nuvo products to match the cover of my book. On the right, is one of Renea's In to the Mystic Premium paper butterflies. The colors are just perfect for fall!

Below, is a gathering of  Beautiful Board Medium Pumpkin Patch Set Laser Cut Chipboard. I altered these as well, and added papers to match the collection...

You can see that there is also a delicate shaker element behind the title of this book. I layered die cut pieces, and then filled the pocket with Hexagon Lilypad sequins from Tonic studios among others for a bit of shine...

I also topped off the gorgeous box that houses this mini album with a Sweet Dreams Dusty Peach Premium Paper Butterfly, and an Into the Mystic Butterfly. To make this box special, I also layered a gorgeous Wide Gold Embroidered Lace between the inlay panels that I cut out of Tonic Studios cardstock, as well as altered papers that I colored using Nuvo Embellishment mousse in Mint Tea. The result is absolutely elegant!!

Here is a closer look at the gorgeous lace as well as the tiny acorns I used to make a dangle for the spine of my album.

Below are the interior pages of this mini album. I alternated simple pages with interactive ones. All have been adorned with different Beautiful board pieces that I altered using Nuvo Glitter drops, pens, and Crystal drops. I also included pockets in each page, with plenty of room for pictures. 

 

On this particular page, I also added the Itty Bitty Peach mulberry flowers altered with Gaudy Girl Glass Glitter. This always creates such a lovely shine and texture on my projects. It is a perfect combination! The swirly ornate pumpkin shines with small drops of Nuvo iridescent drops. The tabs on the pages allow you to place a small hidden picture, and protect it from the decorative elements. 

The back page also has a small flower, skeleton leaf, and Premium Paper Lissie Glitter Glass Dragonfly. It has the perfect touch of glimmer with a copper body and small pearl. I love all of these beautiful products and am grateful to have the opportunity to showcase them in my projects. I think you will like them too.
