Birthday Themed Explosion Box

Thank you for stopping by!
It had been years since my last Explosion Box, and I needed a quick Birthday gift to contain a gift-card. I was surfing through Youtube and decided why not?
This was the perfect way to make my small gift to my bestie look more personalized.

This is the view from the top. I added colorful flowers and a pennant with the sentiment.

The inside pops open to reveal a 3D cup. In it, I placed a gorgeous teabag ( you're seeing a paper rose in the picture)
The small card in this picture contained the sentiment, and housed the gift-card, but the box had a small set of personalized cards also, that she can use for notes.
The note cards all coordinated with soft colors. I used my Cricut to cut them out. as well as the envelopes.

I made a quick video, and the recipe for this 3D card is:
Cricut Explore Air2/ Design Space 3
Cup of Love Dies from The Scrapping Cottage
Paper : ItFactor / WeRMemory Keepers, Others
Love Elsie Stamps/ Claire Pep Rally
Washi tape
  Ranger Distress Inks
Gesso

Today I am sharing a beautiful card made with Santoro London Gorguss Girl , On Top of The World. I love all of the Gorguss Girl stamps, and this one in particular has a girl sitting on a wire with her little bird friends.

She is so adorable that I pictured her as pretending to be a bird as well. After coloring her, I gave her a plumed headdress with silver and pink feathers.

She is sitting on the front of a birdcage, free as a bird, and the front of the card has a huge girly bow made with white cardstock, pink vellum, and a small embellishment center.
The fence underneath is a beautiful border, and behind her I used a die to color the sky with a doily pattern and oxide inks.

This card is now complete with a beautiful sentiment, a button, and birds that peek out from behind a beautiful scrolled fence.

Tim Holtz Oxide Inks Review, and project share! Girly, and Masculine!!

Thank you for stopping by!
Today I am sharing some mixed media cards I have recently made with my new collection of
Tim Holtz Distress Oxide inks.

The recipe for these cards is:
Cricut Explore Air 2, Distress Inks, Distress Oxides, Distress Crayons, Sennelier Watercolors, Prismacolor pencils, Santoro London Gorguss Girl stamps: You Brought Me love, and On Top of the World (buttons), Stampers Anonymous Hipster stamps CMS288, Canson Mixed Media 98lb paper, Recollections Washi tape and 110lb card stock, Neenah Creative Collection Premium Extra-heavy A2 Cards, Simplicity cord, sewing machine,  Spellbinders dies, rub-ons, patience & love!

For this adorable Gorguss girl, heart, and surrounding scene I used Sennelier watercolors, Prismacolor Pencils, Distress ink and Oxide inks. The sentiment was written on the heart with the Cricut Explore Air 2 after being fussy cut, and I finished it with the buttons and cord.

I used my Cricut Explore Air2 to cut the intricate lace borders, the sentiment insert, small flowers, and the water-can scene complete with snail and grass!
To make the entire card shabby, I distressed all edges, and used inks on all borders, as well as Distress Crayons.

For this little delicate card, I used Oxide inks in three colors, then splattered water to combine for a soft watercolor-like effect.
I added delicate white borders,a white flower cut with my Cricut Explore Air 2, and finished it with the Thank you sentiment and sequins.

For these cards I began with a black Neenah Card base, added washi tape, rub-ons, and Distress Oxide inks on top of Distress inks, The Hipster CMS collection for Stampers Anonymous is complete with sentiments such as "Yeah", and "Sweet" used here, I masked the images after stamping them onto Recollections cardstock. They were so much fun to make!!

Super Classy Wedding Lanterns and Boxes, with Cricut Explore Air 2!

Thank you for stopping by!
I recently received a small order for a wedding shower, and I was thrilled to add my personal touch to the items I created for the bride. She was looking for lanterns, and I was so happy that Cricut made this so easy for me. Using nothing but the best quality supplies, the lanterns were impeccable, and the little box was where I also delivered the tealights for her special day.

I decorated the pretty lanterns with silver accents, and pearlescent flowers. The little sprigs to mimic baby's breath were also accented in pearl and silver. The finishing touch was the green ribbon to match the wedding colors.

Each lantern will be lit with a tealight. For this, I created a little box to match!

The box is topped with dry-embossed silver card-stock, a medallion with the couple's initials, and a small sprig to match the lanterns. I topped it with the prettiest bow in white and vellum paper, finished with a clear gem.

I made sure to add a white organza ribbon to the box to finish it off, and add the touch or pearl-inspired white.

To show the bride other possibilities to her special day, I also made a goody-bag sample with the bridal dress-form, a touch of the same pearl and silver colors, and the green silk ribbon.
These items can all be customized as you wish! Contact me at paintsandglitter@gmail.com for special items made just for you!

Use Cricut Design Space 3 to Make a beautiful Glue Gun holder!!

Thank you for joining me!
There are several tutorials available to make your own version of this project. They are all beautiful, and I decided it was time to give it a go!
This is just my version, but you know I had to use my Cricut Explore Air and make it pretty!!
First, gather your supplies. This means a haul trip to the $$ store, where you will find a glass piece for the bottom and a candle holder. Go for something heavy, as this is meant to hold your glue gun and keep it from sliding off your table.
The size of the opening should allow your glue gun to rest comfortably. I was fortunate to find one that had an opening large enough for my glue gun, and has a favorite Bible verse from the book of Joshua!!
I used the Gold glitter vinyl & my weeding tool (retro Cricut user here!)
Ensure you make your image smaller than the perimeter of your glass base. I made mine 5' round.

To cut the Vinyl, I used the custom setting in Design Space 3, before releasing the mat, verify that this has cut completely, and if you are in doubt, you can simply press the Cut button before releasing the mat for a second go around.

Once I weeded the vinyl, I noticed the bottom is actually silver, and just as beautiful as the top!

This vinyl came with the Strong Transfer tape ** I do not prefer this tape**, you may use the regular transfer tape from Cricut, or even contact paper.
Next, to make the glass pretty...
To release it to your surface, burnish the vinyl to the glass surface and peel away gently at an angle. I used a bone folder.
You may use an epoxy glue that adheres glass and ceramics to adhere your candle holder to your base, and now you have a stunning piece to hold your glue gun or any little trinkets on your table!
There are many versions of this out there, I hope you have fun making your own!

World's Best Dad - Monocle Steampunk Card

Thank you for joining me!
Father's Day is soon approaching, and I was inspired to make a Steampunk style card with a wonderful gear background image from Cricut's Design Space. This card was fun to make, and I hope that you also enjoy it!

This card features an elegant image of a man in a tall hat, wearing a bow tie, and monocle.
The colors are masculine, with a black background full of gears. This adds to the Steampunk style of the card.

The white background is also embossed with several mustache images. His monocle is made of vinyl, a long-lasting sturdy material.

To finish the 6' square card, The title reads World's Best Dad, on movie tickets across the front.
You may gift this to dad with a set of movie tickets to complete the theme!
This card is made with high quality card stock, and the inside is blank to add your personal message. It also includes customized black matching envelope.
